About us

We draft the European standards. We create the methods to verify them. We certify compliance.

CerteIDAS is a brand of Certicar, a certification body accredited by ENAC since 2016 in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065 and EN 319 403-1.

A solid building under a coral sky: strength with warmth

A very specific space: digital trust.

From the outset, our work has focused on a very specific space: digital trust. We certify trust service providers under the eIDAS Regulation, assess digital identification processes and are building our capacity to audit artificial intelligence systems under the European AI Act.

What sets us apart is that we do not merely apply standards: we take part in their creation. We are members of the ETSI ESI plenary, the European standardisation committee responsible for the technical development of the eIDAS framework and, more recently, for the standardisation of AI audits. Our teams contribute as editors of the standards that then serve as the reference for conformity assessments across Europe.

Our difference

We take part in ETSI defining the European standards for digital trust. Then, in full independence, we verify compliance.

This dual perspective (deep knowledge of the requirements and rigour in their verification) is what defines us. Both functions are exercised in full independence, in accordance with the demands of our accreditation.

The result is a more precise assessment. We do not interpret the standards from the outside: we have taken part in their drafting. We know their intent, their scope and their nuances. That translates into assessment methods of our own (checklists, procedures, criteria) built from that knowledge, not from generic templates.

Why CerteIDAS

Others assess. We know the standards from the inside.

We write the standards

We take part in ETSI as editors of the technical standards that develop eIDAS. We do not interpret the requirements: we helped draft them. When we assess, we know exactly what to look for and why.

From standard to checklist

Our assessment methods (checklists, procedures, criteria) are developed from deep knowledge of the standards. Our own tools, not generic templates. Every checklist reflects not only what the standard says, but what it means.

We do one thing

We are not a consultancy that also certifies. We are not a generalist certification body. We focus on the domains where independent assessment is critical: digital trust, identity and, soon, artificial intelligence, traceability and cybersecurity.

Certainty in uncertain times

In an era when AI can fabricate realities and the tools of manipulation are within anyone’s reach, verifying that things are what they claim to be has become critical infrastructure. We certify those who make it possible to trust an electronic signature, a digital identity, a time stamp.

Team

Legal, technical and audit profiles.

CerteIDAS has a multidisciplinary team with accredited experience in conformity assessment, standardisation and technology regulation.

Our Digital Trust Scheme Manager, Paloma Llaneza, is a member of the AI Act Advisory Forum and of the European Commission’s European Business Wallet technical working sub-group, an ETSI standards editor, a CISA certified auditor (ISACA), a graduate in Advanced European Studies from the College of Europe and a participant in the Spanish AI regulatory sandbox, Europe’s first regulatory testing environment. She has published in Nature on the epidemiological impact of digital contact tracing.

The team combines legal, technical and audit profiles, with experience in the standardisation processes of ETSI, ISO and CEN.

Accreditation

Accredited by ENAC in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065 and EN 319 403-1.

Committed to the impartiality our function demands. Taking part in the development of standards and conformity assessment are independent activities; our processes guarantee impartiality, technical competence and confidentiality.
